Well, clearly I just needed challenged (or I am challenged... not sure which!) :) Managed to shift the lazy-bug-of-no-art by taking on a complex (for me) commission with a tight deadline. I'm still to properly frame it, but I'm proud of myself, I actually managed to get on and do it. Today's snow helped give lovely light indoors, so thank you weather! Took probably 15 hours to complete - there's plenty of stuff I would pick apart, but I'm being disciplined and saying no. I'm yet to find out if that's a good thing as have sent proof pics off to commissioner for approval [eek, hate that part]. Now... just to get on with the pair of colour pe

So I really want to draw something - I have the itchy-art fingers rather than the "darn, must actually get round to drawing sometime" vibe. I even have a backlog of really nice reference and original materials to work from. I have all the materials and some nice new bits and bobs to help me along. I've got some exciting ideas (they're always exciting in my head I guess) ...and every time I sit down to do some work, I doodle, faff, make another cup of tea, go off at a tangent, "experiment" with the new toys and widgets and draw approximately nada. pooh. or as the kids would have it "epic fail". I guess this is the nadgering raving artis

The more I work with colour pencil, the more I get to love it (must remember that when in middle of next piece and cursing how long it takes to complete). Anyway, to celebrate my love of the wooden-clad sticks of colour and graphite, I've bought myself some more stuff to play with. Very exciting as I actually have a couple commissions to get on and do and shiny new stuff always helps to inspire actual effort. Now I just need to win the lottery to justify spending all day drawing rather than having to fit it in around a busy job ;)
